“Safety Net “Hospitals are in for Desperate Times

Massachusetts hospitals are already involved in a smaller version of the new health care plan and has it been going very well for their state?  Well, those “safety net” hospitals that treat uninsured patients with lower incomes are experiencing a huge financial crisis right now since they did not receive more Government money through the national health care reform.

These “safety net” hospitals need Government funding just to make it financially each year.  Some of these hospitals have had to cut jobs and close health centers to make ends meet.  Is this a glimpse into the future of our Country with the new health care reform?  For more information on this issue,  check out this Boston Globe article, Hard calls for hospitals
