Checking into peer reviewed cases

An anonymous letter sent to state regulators has Los Angeles County authorities seeking access into two years of peer reviewed cases at a local hospital.  The author of this anonymous letter claims that there was not enough peer review in regard to problems at the neonatal ICU.  This letter stated that the peer review was missing and “doctors and staff were not meeting to discuss medical mistakes.”

Of course, when a letter comes into play like this one, officials should check into the issue.  Hopefully, though, this will not be a biased sham peer review and a genuine review will be done.  Biased sham peer reviews hurt everyone, but if a genuine review is not completed, parties on all sides are hurt as well.  To read more on this issue, read this article, L.A.
