If Medicaid is expanded, will the costs to states increase?

Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), expanding Medicaid will add costs to states of at least $118 billion (through 2023).  This is a higher estimate of costs than what was originally estimated.  These new estimates were recently released in a report from House and Senate Republicans.  Who is covered by Medicaid?  At this present time, almost 54 million Americans.  By 2014, the amount of people covered by Medicaid could be increased by at least 20 million, starting in 2014.

This expansion will add costs of $60 billion to states between 2010 and 2019.  What do you think about this expansion under the ACA?  For more information, check out this article, GOP study: Medicaid expansion will cost states billions
