Is the fate of Medicare grim or should we believe the Obama administration’s glowing report of how the new healthcare law has created a better financial future for this program? The current administration claims that things are looking good for Medicare to be extended longer than previous reports; however, if things proceed as planned with the new health care law, doctors may cease to treat Medicare patients, and such a shortage of physicians for seniors would present a very difficult situation for those patients.
The existing healthcare law is going to cut reimbursement to doctors and that will not be a catalyst to increased productivity of physicians. Rather, the way the system is going can likely create a shortage of physicians. This is not the type of change that the American people were looking for.
